Cummins engines are renowned for their long history, offering superior power and fuel economy. They feature a ooth overall operating weight distribution, lower center of gravity, and extensive experience in handling complex operating conditions. They deliver higher performance and horsepower than many compes, meeting Tier 2 and Tier 3 emission standards for highway motor vehicles. Cummins maintains close partnerships with major global mining equipment manufacturers, including Komatsu, Liebherr, LeTourneau, Hitachi, Terex, Ngersoll-Rand, and Belaz.
The application of Cummins mining engines in China can be traced back to June 1973, when an open-pit iron mine in Northeast China purchased 14 Cummins KV12 high-horsepower mining engines. Mr. Elvin Miller, then Chairman of Cummins, made a special trip to Beijing to discuss the service and maintenance of these engines with the Chinese customer and established direct business contact with the China National Machinery Import & Export Corporation. That autumn, two groups of Chinese technicians traveled to Cummins headquarters in Columbus to learn engine maintenance techniques. After more than 30 years of development, Cummins has established strong cooperative relationships with major domestic mining equipment manufacturers. Heavy equipment equipped with Cummins mining engines is widely used in major coal mines, iron mines, and large-scale water conservancy projects across China, such as the Three Gorges Dam and Xiaolangdi Dam projects. Cummins collaborates with Chinese mining equipment manufacturers, with major clients including: Inner Mongolia North Heavy Duty Truck Co., Ltd., Benxi North Machinery Heavy Duty Truck Co., Ltd., Xiangtan Electric Machinery Plant, Zhonghuan Power (Beijing) Heavy Duty Truck Co., Ltd., and Beijing Shougang Heavy Duty Truck Manufacturing Plant.
